Why SAMURA
Sharp, balanced and made to be used every day
Every SAMURA series starts as a hand sketch by founder and designer Alexey Yakovlev. The blades follow Japanese knife making: thin, hard steel and a precise edge. The handles are shaped for a secure grip in daily cooking, from compact paring knives to heavy cleavers.

Which SAMURA knife should I buy first?
Most cooks start with a chef's knife of about 200 mm or a santoku of about 180 mm. Both handle meat, fish and vegetables. Add a paring or utility knife for small work.
What is the difference between the SAMURA series?
Mainly the steel, the handle and the finish. AUS-8 series such as Mo-V and Harakiri are hard-wearing and easy to sharpen. AUS-10, VG-10 and Damascus series such as Damascus, Meteora and Artefact are harder, 59–61 HRC, and can take a finer edge. Every product page lists its steel and hardness.
How do I keep my knife sharp?
Wash it by hand and dry it straight away, cut on a wooden or plastic board, and sharpen it on a whetstone. A #1000/#3000 stone suits most SAMURA knives. Each product page shows a care kit matched to its steel and edge.
Can I put SAMURA knives in the dishwasher?
We recommend washing by hand. Heat, detergent and knocks in a dishwasher dull the edge and can damage the handle.
How fast is delivery?
Standard shipping is free from €79. Delivery within the EU usually takes 2–5 business days.
Can I return a knife?
Yes. You can withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason, and every product has a 2-year legal guarantee.
