The details

A closer look

The Samura Harakiri carving fork holds the meat while your knife does the cutting. Designed with pork and veal dishes in mind, it keeps hot meat steady on the board as you carve, then helps you lay the slices onto serving plates. This 208 mm carving fork measures 329 mm overall and has a black ABS plastic handle.

Prongs and steel

The long, thin prongs are made from a single layer of AUS-8 stainless steel, hardened to 58–59 HRC. They are sharp enough to go deep into meat or game and hold it securely, so it stays put while you carve. As a stainless steel, AUS-8 resists corrosion, provided you wash the fork by hand and dry it after use.

Handle and balance

The handle is made of durable black ABS plastic. It lets you move and angle the fork freely, whether you are steadying a roast on the board or lifting carved slices onto a plate. At 94 g net, the fork is light in the hand, in keeping with the lightweight Harakiri knives.

Best uses

  • Holding hot meat steady while you carve
  • Fixing meat or game securely on the board
  • Helping you carve and serve pork and veal dishes
  • Laying carved slices onto serving plates

Care

Before first use, rinse the fork with hot water and wipe it dry. After that, clean it by hand with non-abrasive materials and wipe it dry; a dishwasher is not recommended. Do not leave the fork in the sink for a long time.
