Samura Inca Fruit Knife and Peeler Set, 2 pcs

The Samura Inca fruit knife and peeler set brings together two tools for fruit and vegetable prep: a small ceramic fruit/paring knife and a vegetable peeler. Use the knife to cut fruit and peel off skins, and the peeler to peel produce or shave off very thin slices. Both pieces have zirconia ceramic blades and black handles of ABS plastic with a TPR soft-touch coating.

Blades and material

The blades are made of zirconia ceramic, and SAMURA describes the Inca blades as resistant to oxidation. A ceramic blade is made for cutting and peeling rather than chopping, and it can chip if it is dropped on a hard surface. Keep it for fruit and vegetables, and leave bones, frozen food and very hard ingredients to other knives.

Handle and balance

Both handles are black and made of ABS plastic with a TPR soft-touch coating. SAMURA describes the soft TPR-coated handles of the Inca range as giving you a confident grip.

Care and sharpening

Rinse both pieces with hot water and wipe them dry before first use, then wash them by hand with non-abrasive materials and dry them; a dishwasher is not recommended, and they should not be left in the sink for long. Cut on wooden or plastic boards, never on glass, do not chop with the ceramic knife, and do not cut frozen food, food with bones, pineapples, hard cheese, summer sausage or dry salami. Handle the knife with care, because dropping it on a hard surface such as tiles or marble may chip or split the blade; minor chipping of the edge during the first months is normal and does not affect cutting. Store the knife in a brush block or knife holder where the blade does not touch metal items, and never test sharpness with bare hands; use a piece of paper.
